Galaxy S24 is now running on the One UI 6.1 software version, but that doesn’t stop it from getting new feature-packed updates. The Samsung representative in Korea confirms that the Galaxy S24 trio will soon get the One UI 6.1.1 version. The answer came when users asked about the touch screen issue on display. In an answer, Samsung rep says “The S24 model, initially released with 6.1 is scheduled to be applied to the next 6.1.1 update.” The next One UI firmware possibly be released in July or August with new Galaxy devices.
The One UI 6.x.x versions are specifically built for Galaxy foldables and tablets. It never comes to Galaxy S, M, or other Galaxy phone series. Here, Samsung rep might want to say the new features introduced in 6.1.1 will be areleased for Galaxy S24, S24+ & S24 Ultra devices. Samsung might not change the firmware code and simply bring new functions to these flagship models. The new software will first appear on Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6 smartphones.
There is no such word for other Galaxy smartphones or mid-range devices. Like in the previous case, the company will launch the next One UI update for the Galaxy S23 series including Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S22 series, and other Galaxy Fold series phones. We have to wait for the next Galaxy Unpacked event to see which are those lucky devices.
